Moving south from New York and setting up a new paper studio has posed many challenges. My commitment to use local fibers for papermaking is the biggest challenge of all. A fortuitous full moon at high tide presented the opportunity to obtain vast amounts of sea grass (spartina) in my new sea island community and provide a name for my new venture.
